Even Chandler can cook this sauce! It's one of the most famous sauces and everyone have already tasted it, but have you ever tried to make cranberry sauce at home? It’s really simple and you’ll need just a few ingredients.
Can I cook cranberry sauce in advance?
Of course you can! There is a lot to do while prepairing a huge family dinner and this sauce is the best one if you want to be calm in the kitchen.
Use only ripe cranberries
It’s really important to have ripe cranberries, because they are a bit bitter and the more they are unripe the worse they taste. Also don’t worry to use a lot of sugar because of the bitter flavour. It could be replaced with honey, but I think that sugar is the best option in this case.
Don’t worry about the consistency
It may seem a bit liquid in the end of cooking but you don’t have to be worried. Your cranberry sauce will thicken as it cools.
Recipe:
Serves: 6-8
Time: 20 minutes
3 and 1/2 cup / 350g fresh cranberries

1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup / 150g sugar
a pinch of nutmeg
1 stick of cinnamon
4 cardamon pods

Put your cranberries into a saucepan and pour them with orange juice and water. Add the salt, sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon and cardamon. Then turn the heat on and bring everything to boil.
step 2
Cook your sauce for 15 minutes until most of the cranberries have popped and the sauce gets thick.
step 3
Remove the saucepan from heat, place your sauce in a bowl and let it cool.
